The Southeastern Conference Media Days don’t start until July 14, giving Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer all the time in the world to enjoy his tropical retreat with his family. While DeBoer hasn’t shared anything about his whereabouts, his daughter Avery gave us an insight into what the family is up to.
On Tuesday, Avery posted several photos from their vacation at Antigua and Barbuda. Avery posted snapshots of the beautiful and scenic places the family visited, including a beachside restaurant, water activities, a beautiful painting she came across and finally some group photos.

It was love at first sight for Kalen DeBoer, who is married to Nicole since Dec. 2001. The couple exchanged their vows in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Nicole was born in 1978 to Terry and Lori Tendler. She played high school and college basketball at Augustana University and also holds a fitness management degree.
The couple is parents to two daughters: Alexis and Avery. The former is a softball athlete, and previously played at Bellevue High (WA). She batted an impressive .634 in her senior year. She is now on the University of Washington Huskies softball team.
Meanwhile, Avery loves horse riding and recently graduated from college (studying HR Management, Women & Gender Studies, Honors).
Kalen DeBoer Reveals Family Helped Him Decide For Alabama HC Role
After legendary college football coach Nick Saban retired from his role as Alabama football head coach in January 2024, the program hired Kalen DeBoer, who took the Washington Huskies to the national championship game just a season ago.
While the program in Tuscaloosa may be the best in the country, DeBoer wasn’t going to move in there without running it by his family.
“The biggest thing for me is always family,” DeBoer said via On3. “My wife has been through it all. When I got my first job at Sioux Falls, that was right about the time where we got married. My kids, I got two daughters. One’s a senior in high school and the other is a middle schooler.
“It’s just making sure that they’re all good with this. As long as they’re happy, that makes it to where I can go to work every day and pour into the program that I’m going to run. They were full support. To me, that was the biggest thing.”
On July 16, DeBoer and some of Alabama’s star players will appear in front of the media as part of the SEC Media Days marking the beginning of college football season.
