Kalen DeBoer Addresses ‘Bama’s 2025 Readiness Amid CFP Pressure

Alabama’s spring practices were anything but smooth as injuries piled up and the roster thinned. At one point, the Crimson Tide had only one scholarship tight end. But during his Tuesday press conference at the SEC spring meetings, DeBoer expressed confidence that the team will be much healthier and ready for the 2025 season.

“There will be a group, and there’s too many as a whole that are still coming off of last season, missed some time during spring ball, but there’ll be a pretty good group that now is in full swing, and just a few guys that have what we refer to as limited or limited contact,” DeBoer said.

“I mean, there’s no contact now,” DeBoer explained. “But limited, and just kind of monitoring their situations as they go through the month of June. But by the time we hit August, we feel very confident that we will have everyone back and be ready to roll at the level we need to.”

Several key Alabama players, including standout CB Domani Jackson, LB Deontae Lawson, TE Danny Lewis Jr., and DB Keon Sabb, missed the entire spring session. Others like OT Kadyn Proctor and LB Justin Jefferson were limited in practice. They wore black jerseys to indicate their non-contact status.

After finishing 9-4 in HC DeBoer’s first season, falling short of the CFP, and then a ReliaQuest Bowl loss, the team’s 2024 results have motivated the current roster.

Now, all eyes turn to Alabama’s preseason camp starting in early August, ahead of a season-opening clash against Florida State in Tallahassee on August 30.

Later in the season, ‘Bama will have some tough tests, including Wisconsin on September 13, a trip to Athens to take on Georgia a week later, a revenge date with Vanderbilt, and other SEC showdowns with Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, Oklahoma, and Auburn.

With so much at stake and a roster working back to full strength, do you think the Crimson Tide will be ready to rise and reclaim their dominance in 2025?
