While everyone is patiently waiting for the College Football Playoffs, college football still hasn’t stopped. The transfer portal continues to shake up rosters as we head into 2026. The newest addition will be Kaleb Jackson. Jackson is a running back at LSU who did not pan out for the Tigers. Where will he be heading next?

Top 5 Landing Spots for Jackson
1. Louisiana University
Staying in the state for this first one. The one thing that we have to keep in mind is that Jackson had three years at LSU. He couldn’t touch the field in three years. So, Louisiana makes it simple. The Ragin’ Cajuns keep him close to his family with the potential to take over the starting job.
2. Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky is going through somewhat of a big change right now. They are also going to lose their running back Dante Dowdell, potentially to the draft. Dowdell was more of the bounce off a bunch of defenders back at Kentucky, which could fit Jackson perfectly. Kentucky also wouldn’t mind getting someone with SEC experience.
3. Houston Cougars
The Cougs bring another close option to Jackson. Not too far from his hometown of Baton Rouge, and likely losing their running back, Dean Connors. Jackson could easily fit Connors’s gap on the team with his receiving ability as well. The Cougars could be a dark horse to grab the former four-star.
4. Baylor Bears
Baylor is more of a long shot. Bryson Washington most likely won’t get drafted, but he could. If he does, the Bears could be in the portal looking to bring someone in. Jackson fits the mold as Washington was a stronger back who liked to drive through defenders. Baylor also brings a proximity factor for Jackson.
5. Oklahoma Sooners
Why not put the Sooners on this list? It is no secret that OU has struggled to run the ball this year. Jackson could end up being the solution to all their problems. The Sooners should be shopping for a running back, no matter how this season ends. Jackson knows the SEC well, too; it could be the perfect fit for both sides here.
Bottom Line
Jackson should be able to find a home pretty easily, given the flashes that he has had. The only question teams are going to have is why he didn’t get that many chances at LSU. Either way, we’ve seen the portal change the fate of many players. Why can’t it be the same for Jackson as well?
