Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Kaidon Salter had high praise for his new wide receivers earlier in the week. While discussing the upcoming season in a media scrum, Salter outlined how talented the group of wideouts is and how there was no such thing as a 50/50 ball when there is this much skill and playmaking abilities on the outside.
What Did Kaidon Salter Say About Colorado’s Wide Receivers?
Salter transferred to the Buffaloes in Dec. 2024 after spending the previous four seasons for the Liberty Flames. Last season, he had 1,886 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, and six interceptions on the year. In addition, he added 587 rushing yards and another seven scores on the ground.
Salter made clear that the wide receivers on the Buffaloes roster are all great playmakers who are extremely talented. The popular Buffaloes fan account “@SkoBuffsGoBuffs” posted the clip onto the social media platform X and gave credit to Deion Sanders Jr. for the video.

“They’re explosive receivers. They are going to go get the ball in the air when I put it into an area. Just they’re all playmakers. They love the game, they know how to get open, and they want the ball. I need receivers that want the ball, that want to go get it, and when it’s in the air it’s theirs. It’s no 50/50 balls, 75/25 is what I want to call it, and I feel I got those receivers that’s going to be able to do that,” he stated.
While Salter surely wasn’t throwing shade at his former pass-catchers at Liberty, there is no doubt that the talent level will be higher in his Colorado wide receiver room.
Colorado Buffaloes 2025 Outlook
The Buffaloes are in the midst of a changing of the guard as it is expected that star quarterback Shedeur Sanders and dual-threat wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter will both be selected in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
Both players have been key members of the Buffaloes roster on and off the field over the past few years, so not having them will be an adjustment for everyone involved in the Buffaloes program.

While Coach Deion Sanders has not confirmed anything about the situation at this time, it appears as though Salter is heading into a quarterback competition this offseason for the starting job.
In November 2024, star high school QB Julian Lewis announced his commitment to the Buffaloes and Coach Prime. However, it is unclear whether he will start games in his freshman campaign.
