The trailer for EA Sports College Football 26 was released on Thursday. Former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert was able to test the video game ahead of its July release, sharing some of the new features with fans of the sport.
EA Sports College Football 25 was one of 2024’s best-selling games in the United States, but now, EA has officially unveiled EA Sports College Football 26, with a host of features including dynamic time, new stadium atmospheres, and another feature that is receiving backlash from the fans.

Benkert, who is also famous for his coverage of EA Sports Madden 25, revealed a host of new features for College Football 2026. One new addition, in particular, has received mixed reactions from fans.
“No eyes, no int. Defenders can’t intercept the ball anymore if they don’t get their eyes around in College Football 26.” The former UVA quarterback revealed this, with some fans ripping into EA for the decision.

“Hopefully just a simulation thing because my goodness, Gun to my head if my DB dropped the ball WHILE LOOKING at the ball I’d be a dead man,” one user explained his feelings towards the addition, with fans growing increasingly concerned over the possibility.
New College Football 26 Trailer Draws Major Fan Backlash
Despite there clearly being a lot of hype centered around some of the new features, the newest feature revealed by Kurt Benkert wasn’t the only one met by trepidation from the fans, with the Gameplay from the College Football 26 trailer also earning some criticism.

The most common—and biting—complaint centered on the graphics. One fan bluntly stated, “The graphics are next-level terrible,” a sentiment echoed by dozens of others who felt the visual leap from last year’s title was minimal at best.
Another frustrated viewer wrote, “No gameplay shown?” with the recent reveals showing mostly cinematic footage and features centered around the stadium atmosphere, the recent trailer has left fans wanting much more ahead of the July release.

Overall, while the majority of fans have been impressed by some of the new additions to the upgrade on last year’s title, there are some fans who still have to see some things before they believe the game is an actual upgrade from last year, with EA Sports still having two months until the games release to put these claims to bed.
