Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin finally got to be an active part of “The Game” in their regular-season finale against the Michigan Wolverines. The Ohio State vs Michigan rivalry is considered the fiercest in all of college football. The script changed last weekend when Ohio State finally took down Michigan, a result the fans in Columbus had been waiting for.
After the 27-9 win against No. 15 Michigan, Sayin, who went 19-26 for 233 yards, three touchdowns, and one reception, offered an insight into what it was like to be in Ann Arbor, getting booed and being part of such an active atmosphere.
“Yeah, I think it was awesome,” Sayin said (19:14) on Kirk Herbstreit’s show. “Just the atmosphere going out there, you know, you’re getting booed pregame warm-ups. It was a ton of fun. We were in our quarterback room yesterday watching the tape, and there was the picture—the film stopped—and it was, you know, Bo Jackson and their corner, and the two helmets colliding.
“I feel like it’s just that iconic—it’s the Game, it’s the rivalry, and it was just awesome to be a part of it. It’s a childhood dream growing up to be a part of something special like that. That’s awesome.”

Julian Sayin On What Winning Against Michigan Meant To Buckeyes Fans
Julian Sayin & Co. came out on top in front of a packed Michigan Stadium with over 111,000 fans. Sayin’s 35-yard TD strike to Jeremiah Smith and a 50-yard bomb to Carnell Tate essentially sealed the 27-9 win. The win also snapped Michigan’s four-game winning streak against the Buckeyes.
After the game, Sayin attended the press conference where he shared what the win meant to everyone back in Columbus.
“I’m happy for our players, I’m happy for the coaches and all the fans who were at the game,” Sayin told reporters. “It was great to see all the fans stay all the way towards the end and cheer on our team. Hearing the O-H-I-O right here in the stadium, it was a great moment for our players.
“They deserve it, they worked hard. I thought they played really well, strong, and physical this game. Like I said, our fans who weren’t here, they’ll be able to wear that block O and stand a little prouder. That means a lot to me, it means a lot to the coaching staff, the players and my family.”
With the win, Ohio State finished the regular season unbeaten and will now look forward to defending its national championship.
