Arizona State fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Jordyn Tyson is expected to take the field tonight when the Sun Devils travel to Boulder to face Colorado, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Tyson is expected to play tonight against the Colorado Buffaloes. However, the decision will ultimately come down to how his hamstring responds in the hours leading up to the kickoff, but all signs point toward him taking the field at Folsom Field.
According to Thamel, the senior wide receiver has been battling a hamstring injury that kept him questionable heading into this crucial Big 12 matchup. However, Thamel reported that Tyson will warm up before the kickoff, and if everything checks out, he’ll be cleared to play against his former program.

The timing of his return carries extra weight, given the opponent. Tyson spent his early college years in Colorado before transferring to Arizona State in 2023.
Draft projections have also put Tyson as a potential first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Arizona State Enters The Matchup As Heavy Favorites Against Colorado
The matchup heavily favors Arizona State on paper, as Colorado enters this game with an overall record of 3-7 and a conference record of 1-6 in the Big 12, while Arizona comes into this fixture with an overall record of 7-3 and a conference record of 5-3.
The Sun Devils rank third in the Big 12, while the Buffaloes are sitting near the bottom of the conference standings. The Buffaloes also rank dead last in the Big 12 in rushing defense with an alarming 210.9 yards per game on the ground.
Colorado’s offensive struggles only add to their existing issues as they rank 15th in the conference in rushing offense, averaging just 122.1 yards per game. Their leading rusher, Micah Welch, has managed only 313 yards in the season.
The Buffaloes’ hopes would be pinned on freshman Julian Lewis. The five-star quarterback recruit from the 2025 class flipped his commitment from USC to Colorado and made his first career start two weeks ago against West Virginia, throwing for nearly 300 yards.
The Sun Devils are coming off a gritty 25-23 victory over West Virginia last week, and it will be interesting to see if they can repeat a similar performance against a hapless Colorado side.
