It’s only the beginning of the season, and coaches are already under fire. Fans of some of the losing programs have already started demanding that their teams get rid of their coaches. But no one has it worse than Bill Belichick.
The celebrated coach, who many believe is the best football coach of all time, is facing unprecedented scrutiny. Some of the heat he is receiving is due to the humiliating 14-48 loss against the TCU Horned Frogs.
The loudest voices against Belichick also involve his girlfriend, the 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, in the mix. Jason Whitlock, known for his unfiltered commentary on sports among other subjects, recently went off on Belichick.
Whitlock not only has a problem with Belichick being a misfit in North Carolina, in his opinion, but he also has a problem with the coach “parading” his girlfriend around the football facility.
“It’s open season on Jordon Hudson right now,” Whitlock said (8:35). “Her DMs are filled and I’m not talking about with TCU players who were cracking jokes in their locker room about Bill Belichick. I’m talking about in his own locker room. They’re in her DMs in his own locker room.”
Whitlock said that football locker rooms are “predatory” in nature. Players often joke about things that they wouldn’t say publicly. So, when Belichick is “parading” his girlfriend around and is failing to make an impact on the field, he believes the players will have no respect for him, and they would be making jokes about Hudson as well.
Another reason why Whitlock seems so confident in his analysis is that Hudson is in the same age group as the players. Whether it’s happening in reality or not is only known to the players and Hudson.
Jason Whitlock Wants North Carolina To Fire Bill Belichick
Bill Belichick has won eight Super Bowls in his coaching career, six as head coach and two as an assistant coach. When the news came out that he was joining the Tar Heels, many believed that he would revolutionize the program.
Even though he has only lost one game, the confidence in Belichick’s ability to produce winning moments has started to fade away. Whitlock believes that a lot of it is directly related to his mind not being completely involved in football.
“This North Carolina deal is not going to work,” Whitlock said. “It’s a wrap. Bill Belichick is making a fool of himself. His team looked soft, looked confused. It looked like a team that’s being led by a 73-year-old man who is publicly gallivanting around, parading around, with a 24-year-old sugar baby.”
Whitlock is hoping that the Tar Heels are having some serious meetings behind the scenes in order to figure out how to get rid of the Belichick tenure before it even starts properly. In his opinion, if they continue down this path, the results will be disastrous for the program.
