Bill Belichick’s era at North Carolina has officially started, as the Tar Heels are facing the TCU Horned Frogs tonight in their season opener at Chapel Hill. Broadcasters were surprised as they prepared to transmit the encounter to the nation. The official depth chart released by the University of North Carolina was, well, empty.

In typical Belichick no-nonsense fashion, the document was a no-thrills listing of all the positions in football and basically nothing else. Fans were quick to react to the news, with some jokingly blaming the coach’s 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, for the mistake.
“Jordon Hudson hasn’t approved it in yet,” joked one fan.
“Look at that hoodie game, Belichick brings the Patriots energy to Chapel Hill,” claimed one fan.
“BILL IS A SINGULAR FOOTBALL GENIUS,” said someone.
Some fans seemed certain that the former New England Patriots will turn around the Tar Heels.
“Bill will turn around UNC just like he turned around Tom Brady’s career. TB12 would’ve been an after thought if BB didn’t draft him,” declared one fan.
“Belichick’s got UNC running like an NFL machine—sleeveless hoodies, laser focus, and “Do Your Job” vibes! 😤 How’s Chapel Hill feeling the Bill effect?” said someone else.
Others aren’t as thrilled to see Bill Belichick at North Carolina.
“I am so over Bill Belichick. It’s just too much,” complained someone.

Positives and negatives for Bill Belichick’s North Carolina after one quarter of football at Chapel Hill
The Belichick era started fabulously for the Tar Heels, with quarterback Gio Lopez easily leading the team to their first score of the season in an 83-yard drive, which ended in a rushing touchdown by Caleb Hood. However, the next two drives were a disappointment, with the team recording -11 and 0 yards respectively.
On the other hand, the defense also showed some difficulties in TCU’s second drive. They easily allowed the Horned Frogs to advance down the field and score a touchdown after six plays and 58 yards.
In summary, something of the Bill Belichick brand can already be seen in this team, but there’s still some work to be done for North Carolina to be an ACC championship contender.
