Travis spent his first season in college at the University of Louisville prior to transferring to Florida State after 2018. He was a consensus three-star recruit and ranked among the top 25 dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation coming out of The Benjamin School.
In high school, Travis was named a finalist for the prestigious Mr. Florida Football title after being named the FHSAA 3-A Player of the Year and the Palm Beach Player of the Year in 2017.

Travis had back-to-back 2,000-yard seasons as a passer and over 1,000 yards with 27 touchdowns on the ground over his final two high school seasons.
Travis has family ties to Florida State as his brother Devon Travis was a star for the baseball team from 2010-12 before playing professionally for the Toronto Blue Jays.
