While many are talking about Micah Parsons finally debuting for the Green Bay Packers after he was traded by the Dallas Cowboys, Packers fans are also concerned about their quarterback, Jordan Love. The QB1 injured his non-throwing arm’s thumb in the preseason and was placed in the injured list. This now begs the question if he will be able to play in their season opener against the Detroit Lions.
Love had surgery on that injured thumb last month which has many concerned if he will be able to make it to the season opener.

Jordan Love Injury Update
A report from NBC Sports has shown that the thumb injury has not affected how he throws the ball, but he has been noted to favor his right side when handing the ball off, which could be a signal to the opposing defense of who to target. This might limit him against Detroit and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has noted that Love has not yet practiced playing with his left hand, where that injured thumb is, yet.
Love has been practicing in the lead up to the Week 1 showdown and it still remains to be seen how that injured thumb would be affecting how he hands the ball off to his teammates moving forward. Despite this, LaFleur has noted that they are currently trying their best to minimize the risk of their QB1 to reinjure himself ahead of or during the game on Sunday.
Is Jordan Love Playing Today?
It is highly possible that Jordan Love would be playing today against the Detroit Lions, as the unofficial depth chart for the team did not list him as an injured reserve or even questionable. He has been listed as the starting quarterback ahead of their opening day showdown against the Lions.
Jordan Love’s Last Game
The last time Jordan Love played was against the Chicago Bears last January 5, where he got injured. The Packers lost that game 22-24, with Jordan exiting the game along with wide receiver Christian Watson during the first half. This injury was different from his latest one, as he injured his elbow.
When Will Jordan Love Be Back?
With Love being listed as the starter, albeit unofficially, it is highly possible that he will be back on Week 1 on Sunday against the Lions. He is still expected to do limited plays, even though his throwing is not affected by his injured thumb.
