Former Heisman winner Johnny Manziel is never hesitant to make his feelings known, whether it is on a broadcast or on social media. So, when Philadelphia Eagles superfan King Gillie called out Cam Newton, it was not a surprise to see Manziel chime in.
On Friday, King Gillie was at his birthday party and was holding the Vince Lombardi Trophy. A video of him was taken while he was on the mic. He decided to take the moment to call out Cam Newton for never winning a Super Bowl. The video was posted by the “Shannon Sharpes Burner” parody X account.
“Cam ain’t never had one of these, and I ain’t going back and forth with you,” King Gillie said. “Thank you Jalen. Appreciate you Jalen. Love you Nick. Appreciate you Jalen. Cam Newton never had one of these. I said Cam Newton never got one of these. Thank you Jalen. Thank you Nick.”
On Saturday, Johnny Manziel saw the clip and responded, calling out King Gillie for his behavior.
“Yo King Gillie you may be the biggest f*cking loser on the planet. Talking like you’ve f*cking done anything on a football field. If I see you just know I’m going to slap the f*ck out of you, trust,” Manziel wrote on X.
Yo @gilliedakid you may be the biggest fucking loser on the planet. Talking like you’ve fucking done anything on a football field. If I see you just know I’m going to slap the fuck out of you, trust https://t.co/BmrrE9LMzk

Drama had been building between the Eagles superfan and Newton after Newton left Jalen Hurts off his top 10 QB list.

Cam Newton Explains How He and Johnny Manziel Were the Heads of College Football
The timing of Johnny Manziel defending Cam Newton on X is not surprising. On Thursday, Newton appeared on Manziel’s new podcast “Glory Daze.” On the show, Newton explained how the two of them were the heads of college football during their NCAA careers.
“I think this is what you’re not mentioning,” Newton said. “When you think about Texas A&M and you think about Texas, who’s the superior team? Texas. Right? When you think about Auburn and you think about Alabama, who’s the superior team? Alabama. We were the heads of the underdogs.”
Cam Newton and Johnny Manziel are both former Heisman winners. Newton won the award with Auburn in 2010 and Manziel won it with Texas A&M in 2012. While Newton went on to have a more successful NFL career, they were both huge names in college football at the time.
