Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy and his fiancée Katya Kuropas have left an imprint on social media with their shared family announcement. The couple recently posted five maternity photos on Instagram with the caption “soon to be family of 5,” demonstrating this wonderful chapter in their lives.
McCarthy and Kuropas’ two pet dogs Marley and Rocky also became a part of the photos as essentially big siblings to the baby.

It’s been years in the making, but the couple’s journey to parenthood has finally come to fruition. J.J. and Katya, high school sweethearts from La Grange Park, Illinois, have been together for over five years and grew through the transition of college football to the NFL.
After their engagement in January 2024, this couple is ultimate ready for this next chapter. Now, more than one year later, they are expecting their first child together. The baby boy is due in September 2025, just in time for J.J. to start what will be his breakout season with Minnesota, or in the words of Katya, “the baby boy will just be arriving in time to see how awesomely he did this past season.”
Katya has been posting updates on her pregnancy to fans via social media. The maternity shoot was also the public announcement and celebration of their growing family.
The addition of Marley and Rocky to the photos represents how the couple see their pets as family. Their dogs have been a constant since their relationship started, and now they are going to have to share their humans with a new baby brother.
