In an interview, Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy said, “My phone pinged more when he accepted his invite than any other QB,” referring to former Ole Miss Rebels QB Jaxson Dart.
In a rather weak QB class, Dart’s ranking is relatively unknown. There has been some buzz around him potentially sneaking into the first round, and maybe Nagy’s comments are evidence that NFL teams are higher on Dart than the media thinks.

Jaxson Dart’s College Career
Dart committed to the USC Trojans in 2021 with a composite four-star rating. After Caleb Williams announced that he was transferring to the Trojans, Dart left USC and joined Ole Miss in 2022.
Dart and Lane Kiffin, the offensive-minded head coach for the Rebels, were a match made in heaven. Dart’s career exploded the moment he stepped foot in Oxford.
In his four seasons, Dart threw for 11,970 yards, 81 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions. His senior year at Ole Miss was by far his best, as he threw for 4,279 yards, 29 TDs, and six INTs.
His successful campaign saw him rise through the draft ranks from potentially being an undrafted free agent to, by the end of the year, being talked about as a Day 2 pick.
But is it possible that Dart finds his way into the first round?
Dart’s Draft Stock
Nagy’s comments seem to push the idea that Dart could be higher on a lot of NFL teams’ draft boards than originally thought.
Dart is an athletic QB with a good frame, good accuracy, and a big enough arm to push the ball downfield. He moves well in the pocket and has the ability to extend plays.

On top of his pocket mobility, he is dangerous as a runner, scrambling for 495 yards his senior year. He exudes swagger and confidence, which may turn some NFL GMs off, but those traits also led to Baker Mayfield being the No. 1 overall pick in 2018.
After Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, it appears that the media has a drastic fall-off to the next QB on the board, but following Nagy’s comments, maybe Dart is much more coveted than everyone thinks.
