‘Jeremiyah Love’s Speed and Versatility Could Be a Game-Changer for ND’ — NCAA Fans React to Latest Insider Comments

Fans are reacting to an analyst's take on Jeremiyah Love that he could be a game changer for Notre Dame after an exceptional 2024 season.

Jeremiyah Love had an exceptional 2024 season, but he didn’t get in the public eye as much, considering big names like Ashton Jeanty of Boise State and Arizona State’s Cam Skattebo were drawing more attention.

Fans React to J.D. PicKell’s Take on Jeremiyah Love

An instance of his excellence was his power-packed outings against Penn State in the playoff, which was noteworthy, but he didn’t entirely break through as one of the nation’s top running backs.

This could change in 2025, though. The Notre Dame running back has recently received more love from analysts, including On3’s J.D. PicKell.

“I don’t know that Notre Dame has had a player as explosive as him in recent memory, like the first name that came to mind for me at least when we were talking about this in the office was Will Fuller, the wide receiver,” PicKell said on Feb. 22. “Different player. Felt like the same home run ability like Jeremiah Love.”

PicKell further talked about how Love can help with recruiting.

“I think the dangerous thing with him is, you talk about Marcus Freeman and the recruiting trail and what they’re doing rebranding Notre Dame,” PicKell said.

“A special player like Jeremiah Love being at Notre Dame at a time like this, what does that mean for recruiting, it means you have a blueprint to pitch to any kind of playmaker at the running back position, ‘Hey, if you come here, here’s how we’ll use you,'” PicKell continued.

Fans reacted to PicKell’s take on X.

“Jeremiyah Love’s speed and versatility could be a game-changer for Notre Dame. If Freeman keeps stacking talent like this, the Irish will be a real threat.” a fan said.

“He will win the doak walker award next year.” Another fan said.

“No way. Lucky schedule last year.” A fan disagreed.

Meanwhile, the love for the running back kept pouring in.

“Notre dame has had the blueprint prior to love. Love is just the icing on the cake. Look at the backs from the last decade. All studs,” a fan noted.

“I’m with you. J Love has those Rocket vibes, with an added dimension of being an amazingly tough runner that breaks tackles of defenders who are lucky enough to get their hands on him.” A fan replied.

Notre Dame’s two-back system affected Love’s stats this past season as he shared carries with Jadarian Price and freshman Aneyas Williams. Nevertheless, he finished the 2024 campaign with 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns on 163 carries. He also had 28 receptions for 237 yards and two scores.
