Jeremiyah Love has been one of the most prolific and energetic stars in college football over the past year. He led the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to the national championship game last season, and although his team lost, he very publicly expressed his sentiment of returning this season to lead another determined championship run.
The story of Love turning into a college football star would not have been possible without the support of his parents. Now a favorite to win the Heisman trophy this year, Love’s parents have been core to him in his journey reaching this stage. Let’s dive deeper and get to know more about Jeremiyah Love’s parents and his family.

Meet the Loves: Jeremiyah Love’s Parents and Family
When Jeremiyah is playing his games for Notre Dame, one of the constant figures supporting him in the stands is his mother L’Tyona Love. She is a retired public servant who used to serve as a sergeant for the St. Louis Police Department. L’Tyona has been one of the foremost figures in imbibing discipline and the value of hard work in Jeremiyah from a very young age.
When Jeremiyah was growing up as a kid, his mother could not make herself available to him due to the nature of her work. But now, she is the loudest person cheering for her son from the stands. She has been one of the cornerstones in Jeremiyah’s life in building him up to who he is today.
On the other hand, Jeremiyah’s father Jason Love was both a mentor-figure and a coach in his life. He has always kept encouraging Jeremiyah from his youth football days. And he still continues doing so, now when Jeremiyah is in college.
From his early days growing up in St. Louis, Jeremiyah was a noted perfectionist. As his mother L’Tyona puts it, “He’s big on his space. Everything has to be in order [for Jeremiyah]- 1,2,3,4, not 1,2,4.” This same mentality still reflects on him, as he rises as one of the best running backs in the country in the college football space.
Jeremiyah Love’s article after defeat in national championship run has put college football on notice
Notre Dame had one of the most beautiful runs into title contention last season. However, allowing it to slip it from their hands against Ohio State was indeed disheartening. And no one was as regretful as Jeremiyah Love, even though he was one of the most outstanding players in the field that season.
In an article for the Player’s Tribune titled ‘Delayed Not Denied,’ Jeremiyah wrote:
“I remember the work we put in to get there. I remember that it wasn’t enough. And I remember what Coach Free said to us in the locker room after the game. ‘Our national championship hasn’t been denied — it’s just been delayed.”
The word to note here is ‘delayed.’ Though he might not have won the championship with his team, he is willing to run it back once again in this upcoming season. This has put the entire college basketball space on notice. Perhaps, Miami might face the wrath of Love and the Fighting Irish’s frustration after letting a natty slip away in the season opener game.
