Michigan Second Team To Rush 100+ Yards Against Ohio Despite 27-9 Loss

Despite losing this game against the Buckeyes, the Michigan Wolverines became only the second side to breach 100-plus rushing yards against Ohio’s almost impenetrable defense so far this campaign, with Michigan achieving this feat even before the second half ended.

Michigan received the opening kickoff after Ohio State won the coin toss and elected to defer, putting their defense on the field first.

The Wolverines struck first when kicker Dominic Zvada converted a 45-yard field goal after their opening drive stalled inside the 30-yard line, with Zvada adding another field goal on Michigan’s next possession, extending Michigan’s lead to 6-0 at the start of the game.

Ohio State responded with a field goal to garner three points and then subsequently took the lead in the game after scoring a controversial touchdown courtesy of the link-up play between Julian Sayin and Jeremiah Smith.

Ohio State, after taking the lead once, never looked back as they used that momentum to further add onto their lead, ending the game with an impressive 27-9 win over the Wolverines as the team from Michigan only managed to add 3 more points after leading the game 6-0 at one point in the first quarter.
