Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith broke out as one of the biggest stars in college football last season. He played an integral role in the Buckeyes winning the national championship despite only being a freshman. As a result, he was named as one of the cover athletes for EA College Football 26, alongside Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams.
On Thursday night, some of the player ratings for EA CFB 26 were leaked and posted on the Elite College Football Instagram account. It was revealed that Jeremiah Smith has been given a 98 overall rating.

This led to many fans being unimpressed, thinking Smith should have a higher rating.
“This is so disrespectful to Jeremiah Smith,” one fan wrote.
“JJ being the best player in college football and not a 99 is laughable,” one fan commented.
“I thought Jeremiah Smith was a 100 OVR,” one fan added.
Fans continued to react in the comments, with many pointing out other issues they had with the leaked player ratings.
“Can’t wait for the middle the of the season update, where uga has 10 more players in the 90s,” one fan wrote.
“Man the couldn’t give JJ a couple extra attributes to be 99,” one fan commented.
“Smith should be a 99, Williams should be a 98 and Carnell Tate should be a 95,” one fan added.
Jeremiah Smith Will Be on the Cover When EA CFB 26 Is Released
Jeremiah Smith might not have the rating that a lot of fans were hoping him to have, but he will still be one of the highest-rated players in the game with a 98 overall. Fans will get to see the ratings for all their favorite players when the game is officially released on July 10. Alternatively, fans can purchase the Deluxe Edition to receive the game three days early on July 7.
When the game is released, physical copies will feature Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams on the cover. It was not a surprise to see either of these players named as cover athletes after their stellar freshman seasons.
Smith is expected to take another step forward next season as a sophomore. In his rookie year, he made 76 receptions for 1315 yards and 15 TDs. He showed his ability to improve his play in big games, making five receptions for 88 yards and one TD in the national championship game against Notre Dame.
