Monday, Jan. 20th marks an important and busy day for new Vice President JD Vance. Vance and President Donald Trump will be inaugurated on the same day that Vance’s alma mater competes for the National Championship. Is JD Vance Attending the National Championship Game?
Vance will not be attending the game but said he will be with the Buckeyes in spirit. He had jokingly tweeted, “Hopefully, everyone is cool with me skipping the inauguration so I can go to the national title game.”

This sparked some controversy, but Vance later confirmed in an interview that this was a joke. Vance mentioned that he would not be on his phone or glued to a television to keep up with the game and would be completely present during the ceremony.

The Ohio State Buckeyes mean everything to Vice President Vance. He is a graduate of the school and a big part of their alumni program. He is a diehard fan and very passionate about the program.
Vance has joked about potentially moving the game so it doesn’t clash with the inauguration. Both events will take place on a busy Monday and garner viewers from all across the country and the world.
The National Championship will be played just hours after the inauguration ceremony, and Vance hopes to witness a Buckeyes National Championship for the first time in over a decade.
Ohio State will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a clash of two historic and hungry programs. Both teams are playing their best football and coming off of hard-fought wins, so expect it to be war.
