“Did Jayden Daniels Forget How to Throw?”: Fans Torch Commanders QB Amid Offensive Struggles vs. Packers

The Washington Commanders struggled to put up a good offensive show in the first half of the game against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday. QB Jayden Daniels & company have managed to put on just 82 yards of total offense (48 passing + 34 rushing) as compared to the Packers’ 274 (204 passing + 70 rushing).

Daniels has struggled to pass longer and find his teammates. He is 9-of-15 for just 49 yards, while running the ball for 14 yards on three carries. Due to the struggles of their second-year quarterback, the Commanders trailed 14-3 at halftime.

This has resulted in quite a stir on social media as fans slammed Daniels, who, just last season, led the Commanders to the NFC Championship game in his rookie season.

“Did Jayden Daniels forget how to throw the ball?” one fan asked.

“Asked Jayden Daniels to throw a pass longer than 5 yards,” another commented.

“Someone should tell Jayden Daniels his team doesn’t get points for numbers of Austin Ekeler touches,” one fan added.

“3&long and Jayden Daniels throwing checkdowns like he’s not down a TD,” one fan posted.

“Jayden Daniels sophomore slump,” one fan wrote.

“Jayden Daniels has 9 passing yards with 11 after catch dude got -2 air yards,” one fan wrote.

“lol u guys must forget green bay has a defense,” another fan added.

Jayden Daniels Is Raring to Go in Year 2

Jayden Daniels has reasons to be super confident entering his sophomore season in the NFL. Despite being a rookie, the former LSU Tigers standout proved that he belongs at this stage by leading his team through playoff waters before they were taken down by the Eagles in the conference championship game.

The confidence was reflected in the season-opening 21-6 win against the New York Giants. Daniels completed 19 of 30 passes for 233 yards and one passing touchdown, and also ran for 68 yards.

His chemistry with tight end Zach Ertz and new addition Deebo Samuel was impressive as well.

Coming into this game, there were injury concerns about the young quarterback’s right wrist. However, Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said there are “zero concerns” about Daniels’ availability in Week 2. He was a full participant in practice.

There could be a possibility that he is struggling with his right wrist, because of which he might be able to make good throws in his second game of this season.
