Huge Recruiting Victory for Georgia Could Calm Quarterback Storm After Carson Beck’s Exit

The 2026 class’s No. 1 quarterback, Jared Curtis, committed to Georgia again. Reports suggest that on Monday, the quarterback chose the Bulldogs over Oregon. This move could finally meet Georgia’s quarterback need after Carson Beck’s exit.

The Bulldogs were Curtis’s first pick back in March 2024, but the QB backed off that pledge last fall. The 225-pound junior from Nashville previously stood as the third-ranked uncommitted prospect of the cycle.

The quarterback opted for the defending SEC champs over Oregon. The introduction of Curtis moves the 2026 recruiting class of Georgia to No. 7 from No. 17 as per On3.

Jared Curtis Rejoins Georgia After Carson Beck Leaves for Miami

This move will surely help the Bulldogs with their quarterback void after the departure of Beck, the former Bulldogs quarterback who joined the Miami Hurricanes after deciding to continue his college career. Back then, the NIL deal was reported to be around $4.5 million.

While Beck left a void after his departure, the Bulldogs finally have the perfect replacement in Curtis.

After entertaining SEC powers and a host of Big Ten, Curtis narrowed down his choices to Oregon and the Georgia Bulldogs. With those two decided, he made official trips to see each of these programs back in March this year.

There are also reports that suggest that the quarterback also took in-home visits with Mike Bobo and Ducks playcaller Will Stein in the final days of his evaluation. On Sunday, he took the time to have a conversation on the phone with the coaching staffs from both schools and on Monday he finally made the announcement.

As you can understand, the QB took his time to make the right decision. And it seems that, in addition to Curtis, it was also the right decision for the Bulldogs in more than one way.

The introduction of Curtis moves Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class to No. 7 from No. 17. They are right after USC, LSU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and Alabama.

It was never a secret that the Bulldogs’ quarterback room was expected to see a lot of changes after the departure of Beck to Miami, with Stockton and Puglisi battling it out for the starting spot. With the arrival of Curtis, the Bulldogs should have their leader for the 2026 season and maybe for years to come.
