Nashville Christian School quarterback Jared Curtis has confirmed where exactly he is taking his talents in college. On Tuesday, Dec. 2, Curtis took to his X/Twitter account to upload a lengthy letter that dives deep into his de-commitment from coach Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs and officially announce that he has committed to coach Clark Lea’s Vanderbilt Commodores.
This follows several speculations about Curtis, leaving onlookers confused over the past couple of days about where exactly he will be playing football. Curtis is nationally ranked as the No. 1 recruit among all five-star prospects in the 2026 high school class, which is why his decision is one that many have been waiting for.

College football fans online turned sour over the fact that Curtis decided to decommit from the Bulldogs and flip to the Commodores.
“Denied it just to announce later on the same day 😭😭,” one user wrote with a couple of crying emojis and a photo.
“At least you didn’t have AI write a poem,” another user shared.
“Enjoy doing nothing with 10% of their roster lol,” another claimed.
“Bro ’bout to get his eyes beat in by Kirby 😂🤣,” a user said with two laughing emojis.
Other X users, especially the Commodores faithful, are just glad to see a successor to Diego Pavia in Curtis enter the Vanderbilt program.
“Welcome and anchor down! This is a decision that will pay off for decades to come on and off the field,” one fan posted.
“Yes sir, now we got a new hometown hero in Nashville 😤 Always follow your heart!,” another fan exclaimed.
“Welcome home, Jared. You just made this playoff snub a lot easier to take in. I’m so happy. Thank you,” a fan pointed out.
For his freshman stint, Curtis will join a Vanderbilt team that is being considered for snubbing from the 2025 collegiate football playoffs. The current Commodores squad finished the year with an overall record of 10-2 (6-2 SEC) and as the No. 5 overall seed in the SEC. In their final game of the campaign on Saturday, Nov. 29, they beat the Tennessee Volunteers by 21 points, 45-24.

Jared Curtis Claims That No One But He Knew Where He Wanted To Play College Football
In the aforementioned letter by Jared Curtis, he shared that he hadn’t told anyone his final decision on where he wanted to play after high school.
The young standout asserted that he wanted to gauge both the Georgia Bulldogs and Vanderbilt Commodores programs before making a decision.
“This morning I was really disappointed to see some media put it out there that I flipped from Georgia to Vandy. I actually hadn’t told anyone my final decision, not even my parents or agent. I wanted to talk to the coaches from both staffs after school and practice were over, and have one last heart to heart with my family before making an announcement. Never had a chance and that was really disappointing,” Curtis explained.
