Calls Mount For James Franklin To Bench Drew Allar as Fans Lose It Over ‘Horrible’ Penn State QB Performance

Penn State Nittany Lions QB1 Drew Allar is coming into the 2025 season with plenty of hype. However, the quarterback seems to be struggling as they take on Florida International, with Allar being seen particularly unhappy after missing a throw.

The Nittany Lions are currently leading the Cougars 20-0 as of writing, and have been dominant. However, this has not stopped some fans from calling on head coach James Franklin to bench his star quarterback after some mishaps on the field.

“This looks like a team that thinks they are better than they actually are! This O-Line is horrible! Really really bad !Andy better get his head out of his ass calling plays!” one fan said.

“3rd and 6 and we are going wildcat because he’s just not good. Seriously. Put Grunk in please. Because we can’t run or pass right now. What a pathetic performance,” another one added.

“Imagine letting Beau Pribula walk so you can trot this hot garbage out there 💀💀 James Franklin doing James Franklin things for the Penn State faithful,” one person noted.

“Embarrassing we can’t get two yards stopped on two fourth downs his throws have been terrible the hype is real ! This team ain’t going anywhere! Nick needs to lift his feet when he runs never seen a guy go down shoe string tackles,” one fan pointed out.

“Allar and offensive line are playing horrible. And don’t know what AK is doing with the play calling. No rhythm. Can’t remember an offense this talented playing so poorly against a below avg defense,” a fan stated.

“Well bottom line, the kid stinks today,” another person commented.

The offensive line has been struggling during the game, even though they are up by 20 points, with many of the fans noting that the lead should have been bigger if the Nittany Lions were playing like they were supposed to.

Drew Allar Signs NIL Deal With Nike After Penn State Announced Deal With Adidas

Meanwhile, Drew Allar himself has been caught up in a confusing situation, especially after his school, Penn State, has signed to be an Adidas school. The Nittany Lions, across all sports, have been a Nike team for over 40 years, but things are changing as they chose to end their deal with Nike and go with Adidas.

This makes Allar signing the deal all the more confusing as he did this after the school announced a 10-year partnership with Adidas.
