Jam Miller Injury Update: Latest Status Ahead Of Alabama vs. Georgia SEC Championship Game

The Alabama Crimson Tide are in a must-win situation as they head to the SEC championship game against the Georgia Bulldogs, and there is some concern regarding their running back, Jam Miller. Miller is currently dealing with a lower leg injury, and this has many wondering if he would be able to play on Saturday, given how important that game is.

Despite this, his injury is considered not serious and he is expected to be back for the College Football Playoffs (CFP) should the Crimson Tide make it. The question is, will he be available on Saturday?

According to insiders, the running back is facing “long odds” for his return against the Bulldogs on Saturday. This means that while his return is possible, it is unlikely.

“He’s expected back for the postseason, as the injury isn’t considered serious,” a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel revealed.

Jam Miller’s absence would be a massive blow to the Crimson Tide, as he is the team’s leading rusher who has already carried the ball 123 times for 493 yards. He has also scored three touchdowns this season, and the team needs him now, more than ever.

Should Jam Miller be out for the SEC championship game, Daniel Hill is the one expected to take over. He has already put up decent numbers for this season already, including carrying for 39 yards in that win over Auburn during Rivalry Week last week, with him doing it on 11 attempts.

What Alabama Head Coach Kalen DeBoer Said Regarding Jam Miller’s Status

During that rivalry game against Auburn, Miller was listed as questionable. For this week’s SEC title game against Georgia, also a bitter rival for the Crimson Tide, Miller is still listed as questionable. This means that he might likely play, but also might likely miss the game.

On Thursday, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer spoke about his star running back’s status ahead of the big conference title game:

“Jam, still questionable. We’ll see here in the next couple days. Kam Dewberry is coming along here as the week progresses. Josh Cuevas, same as Jam. Kind of see here at the end of the week. All those guys a couple weeks down the road will be definitely good to go. Kind of here one week out from last week’s game, some of the injuries that have happened, we’re not quite sure yet.”

For now, Crimson Tide fans just have to wait and see if Jam Miller would be healthy enough to play.
