The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a couple of splash signings as it pertains to undrafted rookies once the NFL Draft concluded. While the organization signed Colorado cornerback Shilo Sanders, the addition of Texas center Jake Majors could be the biggest move out of the undrafted rookies pool for the Bucs.

Jake Majors Could Be the Buccaneers’ Real UDFA Gem
The Buccaneers did not make the move to select an offensive lineman in this year’s draft, which means that they could potentially be welcoming an undrafted rookie to the 53-man roster this season.
Former Texas center and current Bucs undrafted rookie Jake Majors could be the best bet, among undrafted rookies, to make the final roster.
Keep in mind that Majors had a great career in Austin. He set the Texas record with 56 starts and helped anchor one of the top offensive lines in college football for all four years he was there.
His pass-protection ability, football IQ, and tenaciousness are what give him a shot at making this 53-man roster.
Majors Might Be More Impactful Than Shilo Sanders
While Sanders gained a lot of experience during his college days, the Buccaneers already have plenty of depth in the defensive backfield.
Between the likes of Jamel Dean, Zyon McCollum, and Tykee Smith at cornerback, along with the players behind them, there isn’t a ton of room for another cornerback. At safety, Antoine Winfield Jr. and Rashad Wisdom are the starters.
Now, there might be some room for Sanders to step in behind Wisdom on the depth chart if he can demonstrate his ability to play safety at the NFL level.

But for a player like Majors, he has an easier route to a roster spot because there is virtually no center depth behind starter Graham Barton. Majors, with a strong offseason and preseason, can slide in behind Barton.
Still, there is a long way to go before the NFL hits training camp and eventually, the preseason. But if you are a Bucs fan, you need to keep your eyes on these undrafted rookies, especially if they start to play at a high level right off the bat.
