Fans were amazed not just by the confident offensive output of the Red Raiders but by how they shut down the Cougars’ offense until the fourth quarter of the game. The key player in that effort was Linebacker Jacob Rodriguez, who recorded nine tackles and a key interception in the third quarter. For fans, the linebacker should be in the Heisman conversation.
“Jacob Rodriguez has 7 forced fumbles and 3 INT’s. If he played in the SEC, he’d be an obvious Heisman finalist,” wrote one fan.
“JACOB RODRIGUEZ FOR HEISMAN 😤,” demanded another person.
