3x Pro Bowl Champion Left Speechless by 1400-Yard WR Isaiah Bond Going Undrafted

This year’s NFL draft surprised many, with fierce competition leading to unexpected outcomes. Numerous promising players, including some expected first-round picks, ended up without a team. One of the biggest shocks came when Texas Longhorns WR Isaiah Bond, who racked up an impressive 1,400 yards in college, didn’t hear his name called even in the last round.

The college football community couldn’t believe that NFL teams overlooked such a promising prospect. Many reacted online, but 3x Pro Bowl champion Dez Bryant made the most pointed criticism that caught everyone’s attention.

The Raw Reaction of a 3x Pro Bowler Watching a 1400-Yard WR Go Undrafted

Isaiah Bond made one of the most unforgettable plays in Alabama football history during the 2023 Iron Bowl. He later transferred to Texas to boost his draft stock. But in the team’s last four games, he made only four catches, which led him to fall behind Matthew Golden and Gunnar Helm as the third option at Texas.

Adding to his struggles, Bond faced serious off-field issues. Just before the draft, he turned himself in to Frisco (Texas) police on an outstanding warrant for sexual assault. Although he was quickly released on bond, the situation created a lot of controversy on the internet.

These events likely hurt his reputation significantly, so he went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft. Still, many fans and former players believe he deserved better. One of the loudest voices came from 3-time Pro Bowler Dez Bryant, who was stunned to see Bond, Nick Nash, and Cobee Bryant go undrafted despite showing strong promise during their college careers.

He tweeted, “Isaiah Bond, Nick Nash, Cobee Bryant going undrafted is nasty work.” After his raw reaction, Dez’s comment section rapidly flooded with fans who supported the young players, especially Isaiah Bond.

While some fans debated Bond’s legal troubles and declining stats as reasons for his undrafted status, others accused NFL teams of being racist.

Some pointed out that two players Bryant mentioned were from the Falcons, fueling further speculation. Despite the controversy, many believe Bond can still prove himself as a free agent.
