Texas A&M Aggies’ star quarterback Marcel Reed has shut down any rumors about entering the NFL Draft or exploring any potential transfer portal opportunities, confirming his intention to return to college football and represent Texas A&M for the 2025-26 season.
The announcement comes in the backdrop of the Aggies gearing up for their first College Football Playoff appearance under head coach Mike Elko.
During a candid conversation on Robert Griffin III’s podcast “Outta Pocket,” Reed didn’t mince words when asked about his future plans. When co-host Grete Griffin asked Reed about whether he’d return to Texas A&M next season, Reed answered his question with a head nod, saying he will be back.

“I got offers after my freshman year. I thought that this was the best place to be. I don’t think there’s any reason I need to leave Texas A&M. I have the have the job and it’s mine to lose”, Reed further elaborated (26:30).
Reed’s commitment to Texas A&M is going to be crucial for the Aggies, as they just wrapped up an impressive 11-1 regular season and earned the seventh seed in the playoff rankings, and they will now face the tenth-seeded Miami Hurricanes in their playoff game on 20th December.
