    Is Marcel Reed Declaring For NFL Draft? Texas A&M QB Sheds Light On Future Decision Amid 11-1 Record

    Texas A&M Aggies’ star quarterback Marcel Reed has shut down any rumors about entering the NFL Draft or exploring any potential transfer portal opportunities, confirming his intention to return to college football and represent Texas A&M for the 2025-26 season.

    The announcement comes in the backdrop of the Aggies gearing up for their first College Football Playoff appearance under head coach Mike Elko.

    During a candid conversation on Robert Griffin III’s podcast “Outta Pocket,” Reed didn’t mince words when asked about his future plans. When co-host Grete Griffin asked Reed about whether he’d return to Texas A&M next season, Reed answered his question with a head nod, saying he will be back.

     

    “I’m coming back. I’ll be back”, Reed stated on the podcast (27:12).

    The former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Robert Griffin suggested that Texas A&M is the best place for Reed as a football player, a statement with which Reed agreed, whilst also revealing that he had other offers at bay, but there was no reason for him to leave the Aggies.

    “I got offers after my freshman year. I thought that this was the best place to be. I don’t think there’s any reason I need to leave Texas A&M. I have the have the job and it’s mine to lose”, Reed further elaborated (26:30).

    Reed’s commitment to Texas A&M is going to be crucial for the Aggies, as they just wrapped up an impressive 11-1 regular season and earned the seventh seed in the playoff rankings, and they will now face the tenth-seeded Miami Hurricanes in their playoff game on 20th December.

    Marcel Reed’s Breakout Season Earns Him Manning Award Nomination

    Marcel Reed has been an instrumental part of the Aggies’ offense so far this campaign, emerging as a dual-threat playmaker for the Texas-based program.

    Even in A&M’s sole loss in the season to the Texas Longhorns, Reed completed a total of 20 of 32 passes for 180 yards and two interceptions while rushing 12 times for 71 yards.

    Over the 2025 regular season, he has thrown a little under 3,000 yards and 25 touchdowns, adding six rushing scores, as he also recently became a finalist for the Manning Award.
