The transfer portal is yet to open, but several Iowa State players have already announced their intention to enter it once it opens on January 2. This would be the only transfer portal opening next year, and it could be a big one for the Cyclones, though it has also hurt them, as many players have already declared that they will not be staying.
This year, it is a mixed bag, from freshmen who did not get much playing time to Iowa’s own starting quarterback, Rocco Becht. This year’s slate of players leaving the school would sting, and Iowa State might have to dip into the transfer portal to find some suitable replacements.

With the team’s starting and backup quarterbacks leaving, the school has breathed a sigh of relief when QB Connor Moberly announced he is staying. Several key players, like punt returner Aiden Flora, also announced that they are not leaving.
