The Louisville Cardinals, coached by Jeff Brohm, are feeling confident that they can recruit second-year quarterback Dylan Raiola into their 2026 roster come next year. On Wednesday, Dec. 17, college football analyst Aaron Torres released a video on his YouTube channel where he discusses the future of Raiola and where he may come play in his junior year.
This is because on Monday, Dec. 16, Raiola announced through a slew of news outlets and publications that he plans on entering the 2026 transfer portal come its opening on Jan. 2 of next year. For Torres, he revealed that he recently met with an unnamed personnel member from the Cardinals program who admitted that they believe they have the ability to land a talent like Raiola.
“I did have a meal with somebody I would call them, you know, affiliated with Louisville football. Again, to be clear, not a coach, you know, whatever. But, somebody was, we were talking about the offseason and whatever. I think their bowl game is maybe in the next couple of days but this person was like, ‘Yeah, we’re kind of locked in on the portal.’ By the way, that’s every single coach in college football right now,” Torres shared. “And basically, he insinuated, he’s like, ‘Wait ’til you see who we’re recruiting at the quarterback position.’ Now, at the time, I didn’t know what that meant. You know, I thought maybe Sam Levit could be a factor there. I thought obviously Drew Mestemaker was the one that maybe they were pursuing. But, they just basically said, ‘Hey, we think we’re in line to get some pretty good quarterbacks,'” he added.
From today’s @AaronTorresPod:
We’ve got the latest on Dylan Raiola’s recruitment – where a SURPRISE school may have jumped to the top of the list.
It sounds crazy – but when you dig deeper, actually makes an awful lot of sense 👀👀https://t.co/oIQBgq3oxF

Raiola still has one more game left, potentially, as a member of the Cornhuskers when he and his team face coach Kyle Whittingham’s Utah Utes for the SRS Las Vegas Distribution Bowl on the last day of the year, Dec. 31, in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Buford, Georgia native has spent the last two years at Nebraska, and recently led them to an overall record of 7-5 (4-5 Big Ten).

Aaron Torres Reiterates That He Is Not Saying Dylan Raiola Is Going To The Louisville Cardinals
Later on his most recent YouTube video, analyst Aaron Torres reiterated that he is not exactly saying that the Louisville Cardinals are likely to have Dylan Raiola on their 2026 roster, but they can be considered as one of the teams that can be a destination for Raiola. The Cardinals, coached by Jeff Brohm, are coming off a 2025 season in which they finished with an overall record of 8-4 (4-4 ACC).
“So, I’m not even saying this person was talking about Dylan Raiola, but what I would say is that Louisville believes, based on their track records with quarterbacks, they’re in position to get a pretty big name,” Torres said. (7:00)
