Carson Beck has been under fire lately over his decision to transfer to the Miami Hurricanes after five years with the Georgia Bulldogs. It came out to be a huge surprise for fans and SEC teams since he was expected to be leading the Bulldogs for one last year in his college eligibility but chose to pick NIL over his prolonged commitment to the program.
What’s more crazy is that over the years, he has made almost $10 million via NIL, much more than an average rookie QB in the NFL. Slowly, he has become the face of the NIL era in college athletics.

Carson Beck Draws Support From Football Analyst
Last season was quite a bummer for Beck personally in terms of his performance and overall ability. He struggled against the opposition, and his playmakers on the team failed to step up to Georgia standards.
Beck suffered a season-ending injury and got sidelined for a while. After a couple of weeks, he raised eyebrows with the NFL Draft announcement. Experts raised concerns over his draft stock since he was coming out of the injury, and the season was terrible from a career standpoint.
In the next few days, he took a U-turn and decided to hit the transfer portal. Being a hot prospect, Miami took a shot at him and managed to land the gunslinger for one last season.
Speaking about this move, CBS Sports’ Shehan Jeyarajah mentioned that in 2025, all the eyes will be on Beck, and he will definitely go as a top pick in the NFL.
“Beck hasn’t done anything wrong, but fair or not, he is set to become the face of college football’s NIL era,” Jeyarajah said.
“He transferred to Miami, perhaps the most aggressive NIL program in the country. He’s dating Hanna Cavinder, a Miami women’s basketball player and TikTok star. He had not one but two luxury cars stolen and is making so much money that he turned down the NFL Draft.
“All Beck has done over the past two years is put his head down and post great numbers, but it doesn’t matter. All eyes will be on him. And by the way, I expect him to deliver. It’s frankly ridiculous to me how much his stock sunk after essentially every unit at Georgia struggled around him, and I also expect him to be a first-round pick.”

Last season, Miami finished with a 10-3 record. With Beck’s arrival, expectations have soared to unprecedented levels. A College Football Playoff spot should be in the cards.
