Indiana Unlock Another Top Achievement in Recent CFB Victory

The Indiana Hoosiers, coached by Curt Cignetti, just notched a huge achievement that coincides with their most recent victory, which cemented their place in the history of the sport. On Tuesday, Dec. 9, an X report by @FOXSportsPR revealed that the Hoosiers’ recent Big Ten conference championship victory surpassed a couple of viewership records.

The Hoosiers‘ game became the most-watched championship matchup from the conference of all time and also the most-viewed college football telecast of any championship weekend. To top this off, among the three most tuned-in games throughout this year’s championship weekend was aired all over the FOX broadcast.

The Hoosiers’ berth to their conference title tallied a whopping 18,332,000 viewers just on the aforementioned network, with the peak coming in at 19,993,000 onlookers from 11:00 to 11:15 p.m. ET. Perhaps there was an exorbitant number of spectators who wanted to see if Indiana could win its first-ever Big Ten championship, as it last won way back in 1967, around six decades ago.

En route to this year’s Big Ten title berth, the Hoosiers defeated their rivals in coach Ryan Day’s Ohio State Buckeyes on their home pitch, the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Saturday, Dec. 6, through a tight three-point edge, 13-10. The game started with an early Buckeyes lead after the first quarter, 7-3, through which Ohio State eventually led by four points, 10-6, come halftime.

Coming out of the gates strong to start the second half, the Hoosiers recorded a 7-0 third quarter, eventually winning 13-10 in front of a capacity home crowd as well as the millions watching worldwide.
