The big matchups keep coming for the Texas Longhorns. Just a week after slaying their bitter rival Oklahoma Sooners, Steve Sarkisian’s team takes on the Georgia Bulldogs in an all-SEC encounter that could be a preview of the conference title game.
Can’t be there in person to enjoy the spectacle? Prefer to listen to the Texas broadcast rather than the national feed? Here’s how to listen to the game on the radio.

Texas and Georgia don’t meet often, but when they do, it usually means something — like the 1949 Orange Bowl or the 1984 Cotton Bowl. It also usually means a Longhorns victory, with the burnt orange holding a 4-1 overall record against the Bulldogs. It will likely mean the victor this weekend will have the inside track to a spot in the SEC Championship Game come December.

The stakes are high, but so are the expectations around the Texas football program in 2024. The Longhorns are the number one ranked team in the nation ahead of their Week 8 clash with the Bulldogs, and rank in the top 10 nationally for scoring offense and total offense while leading the nation in scoring and total defense. They’re one of the most dangerous red zone teams in the country too.
As a result, the College Football Network Football Playoff Meter gives the Longhorns a 63.6% chance of defeating the Bulldogs on Saturday. Georgia has been far from its best this year, and has had close calls in games they should have comfortably won. That said, if Kirby Smart’s team performs as they did in the second half against Alabama, they should be a stern test for Texas.
Calling the game for Texas on the radio this weekend will be Craig Way, Roger Wallace, and Will Matthews. Way is in his 23rd season as the play-by-play announcer for the Longhorns and mixes his commitments to the Longhorns with hosting “High School Scoreboard Live.” Wallace provides analysis alongside him, while Matthews provides sideline reporting on game day.
