Jackson Cantwell Explains Why He Committed to Miami Over Every Other Powerhouse

Cantwell recently chatted with On3 about why he decided to sign with the Hurricanes.

“They put the most effort into me, called me and came to see me a lot, and it just felt genuine the whole way…obviously they do (NIL) well.”

Through a mix of connections and NIL money, Cantwell is set up for a strong college football career with the Hurricanes.

Head coach Mario Cristobal’s background strongly revolves around the offensive line, considering he played offensive tackle while in college at Miami before going on to coach the offensive line position there, as well as at Rutgers, Oregon, and Alabama.

Cantwell will surely be a big piece of the puzzle moving forward.

Miami Should be Excited for the Future

The Hurricanes and their fans have a right to be excited about what this team can do in the future.

After winning 10 games a season ago with quarterback Cam Ward taking the college football world by storm, they were able to land experienced quarterback Carson Beck in the transfer portal.

The two-time national champion has a chance to take this team to new heights under Cristobal. After this upcoming season, Cantwell will be able to join the team. This team is also lying in the weeds in the ACC.

While the Clemson Tigers and SMU Mustangs, along with the Bill Belichick-led North Carolina Tar Heels, are gaining a lot of the publicity ahead of the 2025 season, the Hurricanes are sitting pretty with their roster.

Another 10-win season makes a lot of sense for those trying to gauge what this team could accomplish in Cristobal’s fourth season there.

Ten wins, coupled with some key wins over good teams, could put this team in the College Football Playoff, which is where they have been hoping to go for some time now.
