Could Cleveland Browns Select Both CB/WR Travis Hunter and QB Shedeur Sanders in 2025 NFL Draft?

The 2025 NFL Draft presents a unique window for the Cleveland Browns to potentially land Colorado stars Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders—two dynamic talents coached by Deion Sanders. Hunter stands out as a top prospect, logging an unprecedented 1,484 snaps last season—the most by any player since 2017, per CBS Sports Research.

With the No. 2 pick, Cleveland could seriously consider Hunter as a game-changing selection.

Could the Browns Draft Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft?

The Cleveland Browns have a rare opportunity in the 2025 NFL Draft to secure two of college football’s most dynamic talents: Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders. Both have become household names under the spotlight of Deion Sanders’ Colorado program, and their potential fit in Cleveland is generating buzz across the league.

Hunter, widely considered a generational prospect, made headlines this week by issuing a clear warning to any team considering drafting him.

“It’s never playing football again,” he told CBS Sports if he’s not allowed to play both offense and defense. “Because I’ve been doing it my whole life, and I love being on the football field. I feel like I could dominate on each side of the ball, so I really enjoy doing it.”

Last season, Hunter played 713 offensive snaps and 748 on defense—an unmatched total of 1,484, the most by any player since 2017, according to CBS Sports Research.

Peter Schrager, appearing on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show, called Hunter “spectacular and rare,” highlighting that he could realistically be a team’s No. 1 cornerback and No. 1 or No. 2 wide receiver from Week 1.

“That is how spectacular and rare this prospect is… home run,” Schrager explained. He also noted Hunter’s character, calling him “a great freaking kid… everything you want in a prospect.”

Initial speculation had the Browns targeting a quarterback at No. 2, but that narrative has shifted.

“Now it’s almost like if Travis Hunter’s available and your team doesn’t take him, you’re an idiot.”

With Joe Flacco excelling under Kevin Stefanski, Cleveland has short-term stability at quarterback. This opens the door to drafting Hunter at No. 2 and potentially trading back into the first round to grab Sanders. Schrager compared the strategy to Baltimore’s 2018 draft when they took Hayden Hurst and then moved up to land Lamar Jackson.

NFL Draft Rumors: ESPN Insider Now Hears Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter at No. 2 for the Cleveland Browns

Mock drafts by analysts like Field Yates and Mel Kiper have already suggested scenarios where Cleveland trades back into the first round to select a quarterback.

If the Browns believe in Sanders and see the value, they could replicate that model—landing both their top defensive and offensive playmakers in one draft.
