Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson will be staying in Dallas for four more years at the very least, as the NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport reported that he has signed a new contract extension with the team.
The contract extension is reportedly worth $52 million in new money, with $30 million guaranteed for him. Ferguson also reportedly received $12 million as a signing bonus.

$52 million is a lot of money, and this drew a lot of reactions, with many commenting about his upcoming wedding to former Miami Hurricanes basketball star Haley Cavinder which many believe to be worth millions. Meanwhile, others questioned if the tight end was truly worth that amount of money, especially as Micah Parsons has not been given an extension yet.

“Overpay or not? Wasn’t really productive last year,” another commenter said.

Jake Ferguson was entering the final year of his contract with the Cowboys, which was worth $4,364,884. He was largely seen as a core contributor for the team, having caught 59 passes for 494 yards last year, though he did not score any touchdowns.
