Georgia and Gunner Stockton had a difficult first quarter against the Tennessee Volunteers this afternoon. The Vols entered the first quarter with purpose, scoring 21 points to Georgia’s seven. This led some to question Georgia’s play in the first half of the game, especially that of their quarterback, Gunner Stockton, and the defense.
Even though the Georgia Bulldogs got back into the game during the second quarter, scoring 10 unanswered points, and they took the lead 27-21, fans still seem unhappy with the level of play shown by Stockton, and they shared their opinion on social media.
“Gunnar Stockton does nothing better than Carson Beck they played themselves.” Wrote one fan
“I’ll be called a racist as usual but Gunner Stockton is awful. Kid is a terrible passer. Idc that he can run, he’s not a NFL prospect in any way.” Claimed another person

Fox Sports’ Aaron Torres basically mocked Stockton as one of the worst quarterbacks in the SEC, while also taking a shot at Arch Manning.

Tennessee takes the lead with a lightning drive by Joey Aguilar
For all their effort in the second and third quarters, the Tennessee Bulldogs seem unable to stop Joey Aguilar, who threw a 57-yard dime to Chris Brazzell with seven seconds left in the third quarter. This put the Volunteers on top once more, 28-27.
However, at times, Gunner Stockton has looked like the safer pair of hands when compared to Joey Aguilar. The Vols signal-caller has 304 yards, with three touchdown passes and two interceptions. Meanwhile, the Georgia man has recorded 224 passing yards, with one touchdown pass. He also has 30 rushing yards, with one touchdown.
In this case, it seems that Aguilar’s dazzling, if risky, displays have been more effective than the safe, yet dull, proceedings of Stockton. Yet with only one point separating both teams in the fourth quarter, much can still change.
