During his podcast, McElroy & Cubelic In The Morning, college football analyst and former Alabama star Greg McElroy revealed a massive rumor regarding his old coach, Nick Saban. The podcaster revealed that somebody “in the know” had told him that Saban was going to go back to coaching.
The individual really did not present any evidence in that podcast aside from an alleged source, whom he says is a “significant” person. However, he did note that the person was quite adamant regarding the rumor of the legendary coach’s return.
This sparked a massive discussion on Reddit, with many fans excited about the prospect of Nick Saban’s return to coaching.

“If Alabama fired DeBoer, I’d hire him tomorrow as our HC,” one fan claimed.
“It’s his wife. She is tired of him already and pushing him out to get another job,” another person joked.
“Auburn has a chance to do the funniest thing,” said another redditor.
“What is he going to do at Alabama that he hasn’t already done. He has so much money, at his age what’s the point of heaping even more by going to the highest bidder. I think if he actually returns, it’s gonna be to his alma mater Kent State. Some CFP MACtion could be in the horizon,” noted another person.
“No. Saban would be 75 at the beginning of next year. It’s time to move on. I don’t believe Saban will be a head coach again nor do I believe he wants to be,” another person pointed out.
“That person? Greg McElroy’s imagination 😎,” another person added.

Paul Finebaum Says Nick Saban Unlikely To Return To Coaching
After Greg McElroy brought up the topic of Nick Saban’s return to coaching, his guest, Paul Finebaum, was quick to shut the rumor down.
As per Finebaum, he got to know that Saban is having a good time in Florida and isn’t expected to return to coaching. He said:
“I feel like I’m much closer to Nick Saban’s age than you are, and I can assure you, when you have everything you want, and you start playing golf at the best golf clubs in America, and you start making friends who belong to even better golf clubs, and you make a lot of money for doing very little work on TV— the interest in doing what he walked away from is not very high.”
Saban is currently working as an analyst at ESPN, and regularly features on his daughter’s Instagram, while enjoying his retirement.
