2025 Georgia QB Depth Chart: Carson Beck Gone, Gunner Stockton QB1?

With Carson Beck gone following the season, Georgia will hand the keys of the offense to a new QB. Even without landing a transfer, the Bulldogs have options.

With Carson Beck off to the NFL this offseason, the Georgia Bulldogs will need a new starter under center. Luckily, backup Gunner Stockton will have an extended showcase in the 2024 College Football Playoff. But who makes up the depth chart behind him?

What Does the Georgia QB Room Look Like Ahead of the 2025 College Football Season?

    Gunner Stockton (Redshirt Sophomore)

Stockton will enter the offseason as the presumed 2025 QB1 for the Dawgs. The program historically doesn’t dip into the transfer portal for QB talent, especially for starters. However, head coach Kirby Smart likely wouldn’t be opposed to landing a signal-caller with some playing experience to push Stockton throughout camp.

The Georgia native out of Rabun County High School — where he set state records in career passing touchdowns, passing yards, and rushing TDs — stepped in at halftime of the SEC championship and led Georgia to its second victory over the Texas Longhorns this season.

For his career, he’s completed 37 of 51 passes for 354 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

    Jaden Rashada (Redshirt Freshman)

Unfortunately, Jaden Rashada’s young career has been marred by off-field controversies rather than on-field results. First, he flipped his commitment from Miami to Florida, reportedly receiving a massive NIL deal to do so. But when that deal fell through, he attended Arizona State for a season … and then proceeded to sue Florida.

Yet, all has been quiet since he landed in Athens. Rashada’s collegiate movements shouldn’t be too much of a surprise when considering he played at three different high schools. Across his final two seasons at Pittsburgh High School in California, the 6’4″, 190-pound QB amassed 5,255 passing yards and 59 TDs.

    Ryan Puglisi (True Freshman)

A four-star prospect in the 2024 class, Ryan Puglisi missed some time during the spring due to a knee injury. However, he enters the CFP as the QB2 — ahead of Rashada.

Will it remain that way during offseason practices? Time will tell, but the well-built 6’3″, 210-pound QB out of Paxton, Mass., was named to the 2023 Elite 11 Finals Roster after leading Avon Old Farms High School to a 7-2 record and the Drew Gamere NEPSAC Bowl.

    Sam Bush (Redshirt Freshman)

Sam Bush is the smallest QB on the roster, standing just 5’11” and 185 pounds. Being a Bulldog is simply part of the family, as both of his parents graduated from UGA, and his brother is currently a student.

Prior to redshirting last season, Bush thrived at Athens Academy, where he was a two-sport athlete (football and baseball). Not only did he receive Region Player of the Year honors as a QB, but he ended his high school baseball career with first-team recognition and an MVP nod as an infielder.

    Collin Drake (Junior)

Despite being one of the oldest players in the room, Collin Drake has just one pass to his name (a completion for two yards). He walked on in 2021 after playing in Texas’ high school circuit at McKinney Boyd for the first two years and Ennis for the last two.

    Colter Ginn (True Freshman)

Despite holding offers from Coastal Carolina, Arkansas State, Memphis, and several others, Colter Ginn accepted a preferred walk-on spot with the Bulldogs just one day after winning a state championship. In his final high school season at Georgia’s Perry High School, he generated 2,454 yards, 16 TDs, and just four INTs.

    Ryan Montgomery (Incoming Freshman)

Ryan Montgomery simply looks the part of a high-level QB at 6’3″ and 215 pounds. His four-star rating matches his SEC-level arm, which has no issue hitting out routes from the opposite hash. He also comes equipped with experience in a wide-open spread offense from Ohio’s Findlay High School, which should translate well to the college game.

    Hezekiah Millender (Incoming Freshman)

However, Montgomery isn’t the only 2025 recruit Georgia brought in at the position.

Hezekiah Millender signed his letter of intent on Early National Signing Day after committing to the Bulldogs on Nov. 30 — just six days after receiving his offer. He began his high school career in Arizona, racking up 5,451 passing yards, 61 passing TDs, 15 INTs, 905 rushing yards, and 11 rushing TDs in just two seasons.

Following his junior year, he transferred to Clarke Central in Georgia and committed to the Boise State BroncosHowever, when he finished the year with an 18.7 yards-per-attempt average and tossed 25 TDs to only one INT, the Dawgs knew they couldn’t let him leave their backyard.
