Georgia Lands 5-Star 2026 QB Jared Curtis — But Can They Keep Him?

The Georgia Bulldogs have beaten out Oregon in the recruitment battle for 2026 quarterback Jared Curtis.

Curtis is ranked as the number two overall player in the class of 2026 and the number one quarterback according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. While Georgia has landed Curtis for the time being, in the age of NIL, nothing is certain, so will the Bulldogs be able to hold on to the young quarterback?

    Can Georgia Keep Jared Curtis?

Curtis had initially committed to Georgia back in March of 2024. However, as time passed, other schools continued pursuing Curtis, including the Oregon Ducks. Curtis would eventually decommit from Georgia in October of 2024.

Chaos ensued as an intense recruiting battle broke out between the Ducks and Bulldogs over Curtis, with both schools hosting the young signal-caller on multiple visits. That battle ended today, when Curtis committed to Georgia again, but will the Bulldogs be able to hold on to him once and for all?

This seems like the final nail in the coffin for Curtis’ recruiting journey. Oregon seems completely out on Curtis as they quickly move to find his replacement in the 2026 class.

The good news for Georgia is that On3’s Steve Wiltfong has logged a prediction for the Ducks to land 2026 five-star Ryder Lyons, which means that the Bulldogs should be safe from any future pursuit from Oregon.

While this doesn’t necessarily confirm anything, it is a good sign for Georgia, as Wiltfong is one of the best in the business regarding predictions.

No commitment is safe in the age of NIL, but after Curtis’s recommitment to the Dawgs, I think Kirby Smart and Georgia fans should feel pretty good about it.
