Deion Sanders returned to the Colorado Buffaloes after a long wait and very little time with the new team after Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter’s exit. Now, with just 12 days before Colorado’s season opener against Georgia Tech, Sanders made sure to fire up his team with a blunt countdown speech.
In a behind-the-scenes video released Monday via the Well Off Media YouTube channel, Coach Prime warned his players that “the switch” some of them were waiting to flip on game day doesn’t exist, urging them to show urgency now.
Coming off a shaky scrimmage performance, Sanders demanded unity and focus, saying:
“You got 12 days to unite, to come together as a team, as a staff, to understand what we represent and who we are, the culture, the standard that we’ve set.” (3:06)
Sanders also reminded the team that they had just 12 days to get serious because it mattered to them all. Acknowledging the turnover on his roster after losing his star players to the NFL, he emphasized accountability before declaring that only true competitors would see the field in Week 1.

Deion Sanders Urges Players to Distance From Social Media
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has never shied away from hard truths, and his latest message to the Buffaloes carried an unusual warning. He asked the Buffs to step back from social media in the BTS speech ahead of their season opener against Georgia Tech.
Sanders cautioned players that the kindness they see online won’t last if they repeat the sloppy execution from a recent scrimmage.
“You might as well disconnect your social media, because now they’re kind,” Sanders said. “Do what you did out there in that scrimmage and see what they do. They gonna eat you alive. You got 12 days to get this thing together.” (4:53)
The fiery address came after Colorado’s uneven showing in camp, which Sanders felt lacked the urgency of a program trying to replace departed stars.
“We got 12 darn days to perfect our craft,” Sanders demanded. “12 days, and some of y’all still trick-or-treating. Got on a costume, it ain’t even Halloween.”
Deion Sanders further expressed his desire to witness his players and coaches give their 100% in helping the team succeed in this season.
Colorado opens its season on Aug. 29 against Georgia Tech, with Sanders making it clear that the next two weeks must be about discipline and unity and not outside noise or online validation.
