LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is viewed by many experts as one of the best QBs in college football heading into the 2025 season. He is coming off an incredible first season as a starter, where he completed 337 of 525 passing attempts for 4052 yards and 29 TDs. This offseason, Nussmeier is taking the time to help younger players develop their games. He was named one of the camp counselors for the Manning Passing Academy.
The Manning Passing Academy is a football camp held annually by the Manning family. It helps young players embrace the fundamentals of football while focusing on the offensive skill positions. While the Manning family is known for its excellence at quarterback, tight ends, wide receivers, and running backs also attend the camp.
This year, the Manning Passing Academy began on Thursday and wraps up on Sunday. On Saturday, the LSU Football Instagram account posted several snippets from Nussmeier as he helped teach the kids how to develop their games. Later on Saturday night, Nussmeier’s girlfriend, Ella Springfield, reposted it to her Instagram story. She posted the image with two star eye emojis.
Ella Springfield Graduates from LSU Before Garrett Nussmeier’s Final College Season
Many college football players are not cautious about putting information about their relationships on the internet. While Garrett Nussmeier and Ella Springfield do not hesitate to post images about each other or comment on each other’s posts, they do not speak publicly about their relationship. As a result, not much is known about the relationship between the two.
However, in May, Springfield posted a photo from her graduation from LSU. In the photo, she is holding her degree towards the camera while she is being held by Nussmeier. Both Nussmeier and Springfield are wearing graduation robes. However, while Nussmeier graduated, he is likely returning for a post-graduation degree as a fifth-year student so that he can remain eligible to play for LSU in the 2025 season.

While it is certainly exciting for the couple to graduate, it is unclear if Springfield will remain close to LSU after graduating. She has not posted any information about whether she is returning for a post-grad degree or if she has taken a job on or near the campus.
Regardless, Nussmeier will need to prepare for the biggest season of his life which will determine how his NFL career starts.
