A couple of members of the 2025 South Carolina Gamecocks roster are being retained for the next season with reported new deals, the details of which have now been revealed. On Tuesday, Dec. 23, @SCSportsNow on X/Twitter uploaded a post with photos of Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers and defensive end Dylan Stewart, as the two have secured new deals with their program.
As reported by @SCSportsNow on X/Twitter, the two standouts are said to have a combined cost of north of $5 million to stay with the Gamecocks, which will likely stem from the University of South Carolina’s revenue share on their college football program. Nevertheless, coach Shane Beamer’s program deemed it necessary to have both players on their 2026 roster in the hopes of not only making the college football playoffs but also going on a deep run.

This kind of loyalty to a college program is becoming more and more scarce in the sport, which is why both Sellers and Stewart are tremendously loved by the Gamecocks’ faithful. In the recently concluded 2025 campaign, Sellers, Stewart, and the rest of the Gamecocks finished the regular season with an overall record of 4-8 (1-7 SEC) and were the 13th seed in the SEC standings. They will look to crack postseason play next year.

LaNorris Sellers Reportedly Turned Down An $8 Million Deal Before The 2025 Season
During the offseason before the 2025 college football campaign, reports emerged that LaNorris Sellers turned down an $8 million NIL deal from an undisclosed program just so he could stay with the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Writer Spenser Davis of Saturday Down South got a quote from Sellers during the latter’s interview with The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman to explain the situation.
“There were several talks, but it never really crossed his mind (to leave). It’s a challenge with colleges offering younger guys that kind of money. Who’s gonna say no to $8 million for two years? They’re gonna be swayed if you don’t have the right people in your corner,” Sellers was quoted as saying.
