The highly sought-after linebacker committed to Syracuse in April 2024 but decommitted in August of the same year. Soon after, he committed to Florida State in September 2024, only to reopen his recruitment in November.
In March 2025, Williams confirmed his commitment to the Florida Gators, highlighting his longtime enthusiasm for the program.
Williams has scheduled several official trips to other programs despite his commitment to Florida.
His schedule includes Penn State from May 17 to 19, Georgia from May 30, Alabama from June 6, Florida from June 13, Colorado from June 17, and Florida State from June 20. His recent visit to North Carolina adds a further dimension to his recruitment story.
Williams was outstanding on both sides of the ball during his junior season, recording 125 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, four sacks, one fumble recovery, and an interception. Offensively, he carried 23 times for 423 yards and six touchdowns while receiving five catches for 97 yards and four scores.
Williams’s persistent exploration of other schools, including a visit to North Carolina, implies that his commitment to Florida may not be solid. The Gators’ coaching staff must strengthen their relationship with Williams to sign him during the early signing period.
