Tyler Atkinson’s Future Outlook
Atkinson is currently the No. 9 prospect on ESPN’s 2026 Junior 300 list and has received offers from various different top college programs.
According to ESPN, Atkinson has offers from 40 programs, including the Alabama Crimson Tide, the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and the aforementioned Colorado Buffaloes, amongst others.
Despite not yet deciding where he will commit to, it is evident from his recent words that the Buffaloes are a legitimate possibility for the talented linebacker.

Although there were some rumors earlier in January that Coach Prime would move to the NFL, it now appears to be almost certain that he remains with the Buffaloes for at least next season, something that will unquestionably be a bonus for the Buffaloes in their attempt to recruit Atkinson.
Sanders is widely regarded as one of the greatest defensive players in National Football League history. Furthermore, he has a history of developing college players into top NFL Draft prospects, namely his son Shedeur Sanders and dual-threat wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter.
As a result, there is no doubt that Sanders could have positive impact on Atkinson should he commit to the Colorado program.
