After Florida once again underperformed, this time losing to No. 3 LSU on Saturday, many Gators fans are already up in arms. The Gators lost on the road 20-10 at Tigers Stadium in Baton Rouge, making this their second loss in a row after getting upset by South Florida last week.
This has resulted in fans taking to the internet and blasting the team, and head coach Billy Napier is facing the brunt of it. One fan page, Gators SZN, is even calling the University of Florida to fire the Gators head coach after back-to-back losses this season.

The account also noted that it blames Napier for what is currently happening to the Gators, which came into the 2025 season as one of the favorites to make it all the way to the College Football Playoffs (CFP).
“I absolutely blame Billy. The problem is nobody is ever really open. Scheme up easy plays and getting people open. I promise I’ve watched this movie before. Nothing is easy it the Billy Napier offense,” said the page.
There were several fans who agreed to the sentiment, showing their disdain for the direction Florida is heading after falling to a 1-2 record.
“Napier’s UF record: 20-21 overall, 10-15 in the SEC. No major program in the nation would tolerate that. Though, no major program would’ve hired a nobody from Louisiana and given him a 7-year monster contract,” one person pointed out.
“This game(LSU) has put the final nail in Napiers coffin… and yes Lagway is overrated but having Napier also as the OC Lagway never had a chance,” one critic said.
“My brother in Christ, WE NEED TO RESTART THE WHOLE DAMN PROGRAM!” another fan tweeted.
“Should’ve fired him last year,” another Gators fan added.
QB1 DJ Lagway Also Faces Criticism After Florida Loss to LSU
As seen in the X comments, it is not just Billy Napier who was blasted by fans, but also sophomore QB DJ Lagway, who ironically was the reason why Florida defeated LSU with a massive comeback win last year. This time, however, Lagway broke a record for Florida, and it was not a positive one as he had the most interceptions for a Gators QB at five.
In the post-game press conference, Lagway admitted that this had been the worst performance in his life and is still processing it. As for Napier, he defended his QB1 and said that the sophomore is still young and an incredible player.
