Paul Finebaum Bluntly Dials Back on Arch Manning Praise Following Dissapponting CFB Debut Against Ohio State

Paul Finebaum was one of Arch Manning’s biggest cheerleaders, declaring him among the top quarterbacks we’d see in the decade, the next Heisman trophy winner, and even worthy of being the No. 1 NFL Draft pick.

However, Manning struggled to put points on the table during his debut against the defending champs, Ohio State, as the matchup ended with an overall record of 14-7. Although, he went 19-of-30 for 295 yards and four touchdowns against the San Jose State Spartans in Week 2, it didn’t impress Finebaum.

Paul Finebaum admitted to Rich Eisen on Wednesday that the Longhorns QB is not as good as he predicted him to be.

“One thing is for sure, he’s not nearly as good as I said he was and a few other people thought he was,” Finebaum said. (1:08)

    The 70-year-old added:

“You know, well, number one, He and his coach got completely outmanned in game one against Ohio State. We we know that story by now. Yes, an elite NFL coordinator just completely shut him down. the second game he looked better.

“He still didn’t look great. Fortunately for Texas, there’s another practice game or two before it gets real. But, ultimately it will. And I mean, I still believe in him.”

“The knock on Arch is the same as the other Mannings. They all played at a private school in New Orleans, Newman, 1A versus the big boys. But that’s not it. I mean, there’s too many people have said they have seen him make throws that nobody else can make.
    I’m waiting though,” Finebaum concluded.

Steve Sarkisian Rips Apart Reporter Over Arch Manning Injury Question

During a weekly press conference, a reporter got a not so sweet side of Steve Sarkisian when he asked the Texas head coach if Arch Manning has been facing some injury based on a viral video where he was seen wincing after throwing the ball.

Sarkisian clapped back at the reported and asked him if Manning told him about his injury to which the journalist said no. When asked about an explanation as to why Manning looked like that, Sarkisian replied:

“I don’t know. I’ve never filmed any you guys when you’re using the bathroom, so I don’t know what faces you make when you do it.”

Arch Manning later cleared the air and confirmed there is no injury and he just made that face because he didn’t throw the ball as well as he would’ve thought.
