The Oklahoma Sooners jumped to a 10-0 lead within the first three minutes of their game against the Alabama Crimson Tide after Ty Simpson’s pass was intercepted by Eli Bowen, who returned it for a touchdown from Oklahoma’s 13-yard line.
This was Simpson’s only second interception of the season. It has been a great season for the quarterback but things turned for the worse to begin this week’s game.
This led to critical reactions from fans as they turned their back on the Alabama quarterback after another miserable start.

One NFL Executive Shares Honest Feelings Regarding Ty Simpson
Ty Simpson is impressing with his performance on the college football field this season for Alabama. After backing quarterbacks like Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe, the redshirt junior won the job over redshirt sophomore Austin Mack and highly touted freshman Keelon Russell.
After nine games, he has led Alabama to an 8-1 record as he continues to shoot up the NFL draft boards.
Amid this, one NFL executive shares two feelings on Simpson’s chances in the professional league.
“He’s had the best year out of all of (the QB prospects), but he’s not as high up as some of these other guys in terms of physical tools,” one NFL executive told The Athletic. “More power to him. The kid has played his tail off, and he’s throwing the s— out of the ball.”
Simpson is expected to gain experience, so as such it will be an unlikely event for him not to use another year in college football before declaring for the NFL.
