Jared Curtis found himself at the center of chaos after a wave of reports claimed he was flipping from Georgia to Vanderbilt. The reports spread fast, fueled by the idea of a hometown hero returning to Nashville and by speculation around Vanderbilt’s aggressive NIL push.
Curtis is one of the most coveted prospects in the country, a five-star quarterback with national attention and heavyweight programs built into his recruitment. Any movement around him creates noise, and this one created a storm.
The rumor lasted only a few hours before Curtis stepped in to shut it down. He made it clear that nothing had changed, that he hadn’t spoken to either program yet, and that the chatter wasn’t coming from him.
“Don’t know where all this is coming from. Haven’t had a chance to talk to either school yet. I’ll keep y’all posted,” he posted on X.

The denial didn’t slow fans, though. The reaction online exploded as people joked about agents, NIL waves, Georgia’s grip on quarterback talent, and Vanderbilt’s dream of landing a generational recruit.
“Jimmy Sexton, it’s always Jimmy Sexton,” a fan wrote.
“People acting like they have the tea before you even opened the kettle,” a fan wrote.
“UGA fans already dogging you out. I fear they showed you who they really are,” a fan wrote.
“It seems weird you’d commit to schools without talking to them. Was the plan to show up and assume they’d let you play? Or… is this classic drive-by media fake news?” a fan wrote.
“You don’t know where it’s coming from?? Vandy’s football page just posted about it. Yes you do bud,” a fan wrote.

“Stay home. UGA OL is not going to protect you like Vandy will,” a fan wrote.
Curtis and Vanderbilt rumors have done the rounds before as well. So, when the cycle repeated itself this time, it seemed more authentic to fans. As of now, the quarterback has put an end to all such rumors.

Jared Curtis’ Agent Addressed the Vanderbilt Rumors Earlier
The talk around Vanderbilt isn’t new. Curtis’ agent, Peter Webb, pushed back on similar speculation earlier in the fall. At the time, he made it clear that Vanderbilt had not formally offered Curtis anything.
He found the idea of massive NIL promises exaggerated and dismissed the belief that a huge payout would pull Curtis away from Georgia.
“Jared does not have an official offer from Vanderbilt. The rumors that Vanderbilt is going to pay him a gazillion dollars are comical. He simply doesn’t have an offer,” Webb told DawgNation. “This has never been about who can provide the best NIL package. He’s never said ‘I’m going to Georgia’ based on a dollar figure.”
Webb also hinted at exhaustion with the situation, pointing out that Curtis had already gone through the full recruiting reset, reaffirmed his commitment, and still had to repeat that message as new rumors surfaced each week.
