“He’s A Fraud”: Fans Rip Behren Morton As Oregon Dominates Texas Tech In Massive Orange Bowl Opener

Texas Tech Raiders quarterback Behren Morton was overwhelmed by the Oregon Ducks in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the Orange Bowl on Thursday. The Red Raiders suffered a 23-0 shutdown defeat at the hands of the Ducks, who advanced to the CFP semifinals.

Oregon’s defense forced multiple turnovers from Morton’s Texas Tech offense as they failed to put even a single score on the board. Morton completed 18 of 32 passes for 137 yards and two interceptions. He put up negative -32 rushing yards on six carries, highlighting his struggle both through the air and on the ground.

College football reporter Eli Lederman posted a startling stat from the first quarter, where the Red Raiders could only possess the ball for just 2:55 minutes.

“Nothing rusty about the Texas Tech D-line so far, but back-to-back three-and-outs have made for a rough start for Behren Morton and the Red Raiders. Big third-down sack from Oregon’s Teitum Tuioti on that last drive. Texas Tech held the ball for all of 2:55 in the first quarter,” he wrote on X.

Fans pinned the blame on Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton for not doing well in an important game, resulting in a blowout defeat.

“Behren Morton is wayyy out of his depth. He’s a fraud and not a good quarterback,” one fan wrote.

“The haters said Behren Morton was a liability for Texas Tech. And they were correct. Honestly great call from the haters,” one fan commented.

“Behren Morton cost Texas Tech this football game. No other way to say it, call a spade a spade,” one fan added.

“Texas Tech QB Behren Morton sucks. Looks scared, too. Their coach Joey McGuire is a dummy for not benching him. Cost the Red Raiders the game. Oregon players are laughing at him. Never seen anything like it,” another fan highlighted.

“Behren Morton lost this game for Texas Tech. No other way to say it,” one fan posted.

“Behren Morton making the same kind of reads I make on CFB 26 when I’m having a bad game,” one fan added.

Texas Tech Joins Michigan State and Ohio State In An Embarassing History

With the terrible loss, the Red Raiders have become only the third team in the College Football Playoff history to get shut out. They joined Michigan State, which was shut out 38-0 by Alabama in the 2015 CFP semifinal (Cotton Bowl) and Ohio State, which was shut out 31-0 by Clemson in the 2016 CFP semifinal (Fiesta Bowl).

In the game, Texas Tech allowed four sacks, six penalties for 36 yards and lost two fumbles. All this played a key role in such a embarrasing loss as the Red Raiders’ dream season came to a brutal end.

On the other hand, the Ducks have moved into the CFP semifinals and are set to face the winner of the Peach Bowl between Indiana and Alabama on Jan. 9.
